Taking care of your new jewellery

Here’s a few tips to keep your jewellery looking flawless. Much of my jewellery is made from gold plated copper, gold plated steel and silver-plated brass. These metals may tarnish over time when exposed to air and moisture. Many of the semi-precious gemstones are porous and should therefore be kept out of water. Swimming in saltwater or chlorinated water may accelerate the tarnishing of metals and break the gemstones. Unless written in the description, the jewellery is NOT waterproof.
Showering with your jewellery should also be avoided, as hot water, shampoo, and soap may cause your jewellery to become dull and break. You should also avoid cleaning while wearing your jewellery. It’s best to avoid direct contact with lotions, perfumes and beauty products, as these contain chemicals that may tarnish or dull your jewellery. Always make sure to let these products absorb fully before putting on your jewellery.
Freshwater pearls, on the other hand, shines brighter the more you wear them, as they thrive with moisture. So do not hesitate to wear your pieces! They are made to be worn!

Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry place, preferable in a jewellery box or a cloth bag. Always avoid storing your pieces in direct sunlight, as long exposure to direct sunlight may change the colours of the beads and gemstones.
If some of the bead strings get bent in funky shapes during storage or shipping, you can fix it by simply putting it under a hairdryer for 5-10 seconds and then hold the string in place until it has cooled down

If you have any questions about storing and care for a specific piece you have bought, please write me through the contact page or send me a DM on instagram:)
